Summer is a great time to begin composting, if you aren't already. The warm temperatures help activate those microbial critters and get the decaying process started quickly. Taking good care of God's creation is one facet of stewardship and reflects stewardship in other areas of our lives as well.
"In my experience, one of the hardest things to convince people of is that a commitment to the future (the big picture) is essential to good health. Being shortsighted and fixing problems as they arise are not healthful qualities; building a healthy lifestyle plan and staying committed are."
~Stephanie Davies
We haven't been good stewards of our kitchen scraps lately, so now is the time for us to be more diligent and to have some fun with science while we're at it!

What fun! Lenna took Botany this spring and had a section on composting, specifically on worm composting. She has a composting work farm now! It has been fun for all the kids to watch the waste “disappear!” Watching the life cycle of the worms has been an adventure too!
