While our family is enjoying a much needed "unplugged" getaway at a state park, I've got a giveaway to keep the blog busy.
After going through all of the beautiful arts and crafts we brought back from the Solomon Islands, I still have quite a few things. I've assembled four "grab bag" giveaways similar to the picture above. If you are interested, please leave a comment before 6 p.m. (Central time) Friday night, August 2nd.
Thanks for all of you who have encouraged us while we've been on furlough. Our plane leaves in four days!

Though I would be equally happy for anyone else to receive these gifts, I would love to toss my name in the game!
:-)

So glad you are getting some time away!
See you soon my friends!
I was just thinking about ya'll yesterday! Could you do a post about what the best things we (as non-missionaries) can do for missionaries in the field?
Do you need help with fundraising? Do you need prayer partners for specific requests? Do you need items that you cannot get there?
Here's the link that made me think you of you guys!

I would love to have some stuff from the Solomon Islands. You probably do not remember me but your mother was my GMA leader when she and your father were in Rolla, Missouri.

Jolene, I will try to do a post addressing your request. I write as I would speak, not usually well thought out. I'll also keep my eyes open for others who have posted thoughtfully on the subject. Thanks for asking!
Fran, I know exactly who you are! I remember visiting your parents' home when I was a child and being impressed by the basement :-) Thanks for stopping by our blog.

Joanna,
Your posts of your time at home have even brought back so many memories for me as well. Safe travels to you all as you continue to spread God's word. I will definitely enjoy your new posts from the Solomon Islands. I have to admit I took my I-pad to the nursing facility where my dad is getting some rehabilitation on his hip,and shared the beautiful pictures of the SI when you were there previously. It made him wish he was young enough to do what you guys do. We are just so thankful that there are people as loving and giving as you all are, to spread God's message. Keeping you guys in my prayers.

Ooops - we got so busy visiting and talking books that I forgot to help you rid yourself of some SI goodies! ;-) Hope you had a beautiful time of rest!
