Catching Up

I'm going to attempt to catch up and summarize the gift of a school year we've just experienced.

Katherine enjoyed playing her cello with the Arkansas Youth Symphony Orchestra. The music was much more difficult in this top orchestra, and she rose to the challenge. So almost every Sunday afternoon, we quickly came home from church and chugged down some food. Then the hubby and I drove her to Little Rock and enjoyed a coffee and calendar date while the orchestra rehearsed.

Every once in a while we stop on the way home to explore the quirky South Main (SOMA) district in Little Rock. We found Press Waffle Company on one of those excursions.

I was back in the public school classroom as well as picking up the fledging string program at the little college across the street. On top of that, I began grad school towards earning my Master's in Music Ed. Lots of good music-making! Katherine continued with her 9th grade year at home. She tackled Romeo and Juliet, and we found some creative books at the library to add to her studies.

The light began to fade as September rolled in, so our morning bike rides got darker and darker and included our fashion-forward reflective vests.

We got to share about translation in the Solomon Islands with a church in Pine Bluff, where our family first began to grow.

and spend some time with precious friends.

Katherine continued to volunteer at our local  animal shelter each week alongside my mom,

I think it was the highlight of her week!
