Once all of our young adults arrived, we were ready for our annual gingerbread baking. I'm unsure when we transitioned from making gingerbread men to constructing edifices and other objects (gingerbread turtles, anyone?).
I wasn't convinced that anything could top last year's creation. This year we gave social media a voice in our gingerbread extravaganza.
We needed help breaking a tie, and the public helped tip us toward Elijah and the flaming chariot. Sarah cut almost every piece by hand, and Jolly Ranchers quickly became flames.
Everyone had a hand in decorating
I love watching the teamwork and the creativity.
Hilarity ensued when pieces of the horses began to fall off.
And Katherine's whirlwind didn't go exactly as planned,
but the end result, as always, was lots of laughter and a delicious way to end the day.
