Reunited

Our re-entry back into North American culture began in British Columbia with sweet friend who work alongside us in the Solomon Islands.

We planned to get off the plane in our sleep-deprived-two back-to-back nights on a plane state to fall into their arms.  Because they understand what it feels like to fly from the Solomon Islands across the Pacific Ocean.

We knew they would be a safe place.  What we didn't realize just how good they would be for us.

These friends know we need a listening ear as we try to wade through re-entry.  So, they let us talk.  And talk some more.

They know we need to laugh and play.  So, they lined up lots of neat places to go visit and explore.  Like "The Last Spike" where the Canadian Pacific Railroad was finally completed.

And Moses Falls.  For this Arkansas girl, seeing snow in the surrounding mountains absolutely wowed me.  God's creation screams His glory here.  The kids romped around and explored.

I can even hold my husband's hand here in public.  You'd better believe I'm taking advantage of that!

I didn't realize how much I missed praise and worship in my heart language.  Our friends' church has a monthly gathering where everybody plays along on an instrument or sings.  We weren't sure if we would be able to handle the jam session on Friday night after our arrival on Friday morning.

Oh, how God whispered in the ears of our friends to know exactly how to plan our time.  I got to play a cello, folks.  There was a lot of instrument swapping going on, and Aaron grabbed a guitar while I grabbed a cello.  I haven't played in so long, and praising and worshipping together rejuvenated me.

Our friends also knew that we would need to be nourished by good food and plenty of sleep, so they are providing those things, too.  We are so grateful for these partners in the faith, for working side by side with them in Bible translation, and for their willingness to give us a safe place to land as we adjust back to life on this side of the Pacific Ocean.

"I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ."  Philemon 1:6
