We experienced a hurricane day at our house earlier this week. Lots of tears, angry words, stolen bikes, hard hearts and bad attitudes. So we did "batten down, ride it out, face it with courage", but we didn't have to face it alone. Prayer strengthened us, extra snuggles soothed us, and an early bedtime fortified us. In the light of the next day, the aftermath of our hurricane didn't look so bad.
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness....The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him..." Lamentations 3:22, 23, 25

yesterday was one of these days at our house too... hard but I am so thankful for a faithful Heavenly Father who offers forgiveness and grace!

Love this line, "Prayer strengthened us, extra snuggles soothed us, and an early bedtime fortified us." You are a good mommy. There is great value in the storms of our life, but it is hard to see our kids have to go through them. I'm esp. sorry about the bike. :(
We should have locked up the bike, so it was our fault. The bike was just the tip of the iceberg that day!
