Race Day

We left the house while the sky was still dark this morning - a row of three vans making their way to the Texas Rangers stadium.

Since I've been having back problems, I got to chaperone the 4-9 year olds in the 1K.  They did great, even if Katherine was terrified of the Rangers' mascot.

The 5K group consisted of ten people ranging from ages 10 to fifty plus.  Some of our favorite people shared the morning with us...

...like my amazing exercise buddy from the Solomon Islands.  God is so good to give us some time together on this side of the ocean, too!

Sarah powered through the finish line to beat her dad!

A father/daugher finish

After the race, we headed over to celebrate a birthday that we missed while we were out of town last weekend.  We call this the "ring of fire".

Oh my gosh - the Ring of Fire is awesome! I'll have to remember that for Kerry's 50th next year!

What was the race? Fun run? Charity? Good for all of you!

Julie,
The race benifitted the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

We're trying for a 5K every month to motivate us to be better stewards of our bodies. Exercising with friends makes running so much more fun!

Looks like you had a blast! The kids and Shawn are doing a 5K Saturday morning. We have been looking for ones too.
