Sixteen Years Ago...

...we moved to the Memphis area for Aaron to pursue his Masters of Divinity.

He joined the staff of Highland Heights Baptist Church as music minister (and other duties as assigned by pastor), and our lives were impacted forever.

This church family began to love on us and folded us into their own homes and hearts.

They went out of their way to love on a young family who needed some extra TLC.

They still go the extra mile to encourage and strengthen us and to make sure that we get some time to fellowship together.

We turn and look over our shoulders at the years we spent at this church, thinking we were serving them,

and we realize that God placed us here because we needed people to sharpen us,

Although we don't make it to Memphis nearly as often as we would like to,

this precious group of people continue to be instrumental in our spiritual growth and development,

and they impact the Lavukal people of the Solomon Islands because of their investment in and love for our family.

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Ephesians 5:1-2
