Happy Birthday, Ice Cream Cone!

Today marks the anniversary of the ice cream cone's creation at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. Two years ago, we got to celebrate with my brother in Dallas.

Today, we drove into town to enjoy a cool treat at Frangipanni Ice. Olivia enjoyed raspberry ice cream, Sarah ordered the soft serve vanilla/raspberry swirt, Benjamin tried something new, green tea ice cream.

Aaron and I always ask for waffle cones, even though the store is frequently out of them. But today, the employees had just finished making a batch, and my waffle cone was still warm! Katherine and I devoured coffee ice cream (she had some of Sarah's, too), and Aaron decided to try the papaya ginger flavor. What a treat for a hot, sunny day!

Some books to help you celebrate:

So glad the packages with the girls'belated birthday dresses arrived. The kids all look so happy and healthy. We are blessed. Please let us know when something we've sent arrives.
Love,
Oma

There's just something really special about the "ice cream" around the world...had some gelato, Italian eis, ie. Italian ice cream on Sunday. That was a treat that I miss a lot.
Looks like everyone is delighted with their choice.

Love to all,
Nahna
